Work Experience Blog

Hey girls! It's Steph and Leah here on our transition year work experience. Like all other girls, we dream of a perfect wedding from a very young age.
To achieve a fairy-tale wedding, a beautiful venue is top priority. We've always hoped for a destination wedding - beach being high on our list. We love the idea of having the reception in a marquee and hanging up fairy lights along the top, to make it magical. Another great idea we've come across which we absolutely adore is lighting sky lanterns and letting them float off into the night sky.

Hair and makeup is a massive part of the day for us. Looking good = feeling good. We prefer a more natural look rather than dark, heavy makeup. A little bit of contouring and defined (but not drawn on) eyebrows with shimmering eyeshadow is a perfect combination. Add a nude/light coloured lip and you're good to go.

Because we like dresses with intricately designed backs, updos are our favourite style. We love braided styles with added pieces such as hair pins or flowers. If you are looking for your 'something blue' a blue headpiece is a stylish and cute option. Loose updos and gorgeous and simply stunning. Put a few flowers into it and you have the boho chic look.

Lace is very in fashion at the moment and we are loving it. As a waistband we adore a ribbon or sash that ends in a bow at the back. This adds a desired waist as well as looking fabulous if both the dress and sash work together. We are all about the back of a dress at the moment and love the combination of a low back in a V shape, a bow paired with it and a long, elegant train.

We love to look up and pin our ideal wedding dress but when the day comes, these designer dresses will most likely be beyond our budget but have no fear, discount designer is here! There's a wide range of secondhand designer dresses at more desirable costs than retail price.

Be Inspired..............

Another great day at Discount Designer Bridal Studio. It makes me feel so happy when a Bride leaves with a big smile on her face and a fabulous wedding dress over her arm!
Part of the amazing journey to the special day and a wonderful life together.
Some Brides capture those moments in their head, other girls come to my studio with beautiful scrap books where they have created their own inspiration boards.

I love the creativity that exists. I found this one on www.darcymiller.com

The perfect keepsake book for the special moments, celebrations and romance of your wedding. From first-date jitters to the engagement, from the wedding day through the honeymoon and anniversaries, this scrapbook helps a bride capture the defining moments of her wedding.

Fly Away Weddings

I am all loved up today, my little brother got married in Vegas and was so lovely to view the ceremony on webcam at 2.30am!

The Bride & Groom decided after years of courtship and working hard to marry in Vegas and take time out to travel the World and have a celebration when they get back. To be honest, I was disappointed that they chose to marry without any Family but I understand and respect their wishes. Not everyone wants a traditional wedding and there are many ways to declare your love. Has stirred up a lot of emotion in me, I listened to lots of beautiful Elvis songs to build me up to the moment! And it was a beautiful moment, watching little bro waiting for the beautiful Mary to walk up the aisle. My favourite part of a wedding ceremony is the exchanging of rings, can't fight the tears back in that moment!

Another Beautiful Bride, The lovely Pamela Farrell married in Rome earlier this month. Pamela owns Farrell & Chase Letterpress and I adore her Fly Away Wedding Suite.
